LTL & partial

One pallet. Six pallets. Half a trailer.

LTL is great when you have one or two pallets. Partial truckload is the answer when you have 6+ pallets and don't want to play the freight class lottery. We quote both side by side so you pick the cheaper, faster, less-handled option.

No surprise reclass

Wrong class on the BOL? You'll know before pickup, not after.

LTL: when it works

Use LTL when…

  • You have 1 to 6 pallets, under 10,000 lbs.
  • Freight is sturdy. Pallets get touched 4-6 times in transit.
  • Transit time is flexible. LTL takes 3-7 days vs. 1-3 for truckload.
  • Class is clear: not weird density, not loose stacking, no fragile glass.

We quote with major LTL carriers (XPO, Saia, ODFL, Estes, R+L, Southeastern) and give you the actual shipper rate, not a marked-up "discount" off a fake list price.

Partial: when it wins

Use partial when…

  • You have 6 to 18 pallets, 8,000 to 30,000 lbs.
  • Freight is fragile, oddly shaped, or doesn't class well.
  • You need faster transit (1-3 days vs. LTL's 3-7).
  • You want one pickup, one delivery - no terminal-to-terminal handling.
  • Volume LTL pricing is creeping into truckload territory.

Partial means we put your freight on a 53' van with one or two other shippers' loads. Less handling, fewer damage claims, faster transit. Often cheaper than volume LTL when freight class is messy.

What we need to quote

For a clean LTL or partial bid:

Origin & destination

Zip codes + dock or residential

If either side needs a liftgate, residential delivery, inside delivery, or appointment - say so up front. Surprises after the BOL is signed cost everybody money.

Pallet count + dimensions

L × W × H per pallet, total weight

LTL pricing is based on density and class. Send the actual numbers, not "a pallet or two." If the freight is loose, tell us how it's stacking.

Commodity + class

What it is, NMFC class if known

"Auto parts" can be class 70 or class 200 depending on density. Get it right or expect a reclass invoice 30 days later.

Send the pallet count. We'll quote LTL and partial side by side.

You see both numbers. You pick. No mystery surcharges.
